INTERNSHIPS

Spectrum Films are proud to support our creative industry with our extremely popular Student Internship Program!

- Josh Pomeranz, Managing Director (Spectrum Films)

Spectrum Films offers internship opportunities to current university students interested in being a part of the exhilarating and ever-changing world of film and television. Managed by our Facility Coordinator, Sofia Costa, Spectrum Films Interns are aspiring directors, producers and editors who are given a rare opportunity to network with many of Australia's most successful filmmakers.

What exactly do Spectrum Films Interns do?

It varies from day to day, but first and foremost our interns assist with client support services and front of house administration; there are no post-production specific duties. Where possible, we try to cater the intern experience to the student’s particular area of study or interest. Previous Spectrum Films Intern Alumni have gained work as as production assistants, assistant editors, production coordinators and casting assistants. Many Spectrum Films interns have gone on to join distinguished production companies. We believe the Spectrum Films Internship is a wonderful first step in the Australian film and television industry, helping to build those crucial networking skills and connections that can pivot you to where you need to be to keep moving forward in your career.

What do we look for in an Intern?

We look for students with brilliant communication skills who work well in a team. We only accept applications from students who are in their final year of university who can commit to 2 days a week for a 12 week period; we are particularly keen on those who are interested in post-production.

How do I become a Spectrum Films Intern?

Due to the current health crisis, we are not taking any new applications for internships at the moment. Please keep an eye on this page and our facebook page for when the next application round is able to open. Our intership progam is important to us, and it will be back!
