Based in Fox Studios Australia; Spectrum Films is a creative hub for established and emerging filmmakers, providing the familiar full-service production facilities filmmakers have grown to love.
Spectrum Films remains at the forefront of industry technologies and innovation, ensuring world class support and creative excellence for many of the industry's most talented storytellers. This makes us the facility of choice for numerous feature films, television programs, documentaries and short films - with major productions including The Matrix, The Great Gatsby, Wolverine and most recently Shannon Murphy's Babyteeth, Simon McQuoid's Mortal Kombat, Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and AACTA Award Winner Firestarter: The Story of Bangarra.
Our History
The humble beginnings of Spectrum Films began on Penshurst St in Willoughby. On December 11th 1964, Hans Pomeranz hung the shingle at the street level entrance to a one-room editing suite, marking the beginnings of what was to become one of the most influential companies in the industry. Soon, what was once a chicken shop had evolved into an ever-expanding post-production facility, housing the best and brightest in Australian and international film and television.
When Fox Studios took ownership of the Moore Park Showground in 1998, Spectrum Films was one of the first post-production companies invited onto the lot. Hans invested several million dollars fitting out the former Royal Easter Show Fresh Produce Pavilion to ensure his vision of 30 edit suites, a large reception and an extremely spacious cafe was carried out.
In 1997 Hans' eldest son Josh Pomeranz joined forces with his father, cementing Spectrum Films as a family business committed to supporting the Australian film and television industry. Spectrum has since been the post-production facility of choice for national and international productions.
Under Josh's leadership, Spectrum Films has further extended its support of the industry with investments in numerous films, strategic alliances whilst maintaining a strong international presence.
Our most recent expansion in services and new offices continues to cement the company's reputation as the facility of choice for studios, networks, directors and producers.
