    Josh Pomeranz

    Executive Producer & Managing Director

    Josh Pomeranz is Managing Director of Spectrum Films Australia’s leading post production house based in Disney Studios Australia.

    Upon completing his Bachelor of Business in 1997, Josh teamed up with his father - Spectrum Film’s founder Hans Pomeranz OAM - cementing Spectrum as a family business committed to supporting the Australian film and television industry. Under Josh’s leadership, Spectrum has expanded to include strategic alliances and investments, and the company has gained a strong international presence with with offices in LA and Hong Kong and recent productions including Alien: Covenant, Lion, Top of the Lake, The Great Gatsby, and now celebrating its 55th year.

    Josh continues to support and nurture Australian filmmaking talent, and is also an Executive Producer and investor in Australian films recently including; Palm Beach, directed by Rachel Ward, and starring Bryan Brown, Sam Neil, Richard E Grant and Greta Scacchi, and selected Opening night film Sydney Film Festival - 2019 Babyteeth, directed by Shannon Murphy, and starring Ben Mendelsohn and Essie Davis, and selected official competition Venice Film Festival - 2019 Hearts and Bones, directed by Ben Lawrence, and starring Hugo Weaving, and selected official competition Sydney Film Festival - 2019.

 

  • Dave Hollingsworth

    Dave Hollingsworth 

    Executive Director

    A seasoned post production professional with over 26 years experience including over 10 years leadership experience and 18 years as a Digital Colourist, recently Dave has helped to build and run post and VFX divisions in companies in Vancouver and Los Angeles as well as a stint at Warner Brothers Studios post facility MPI in Burbank. Prior to that Dave was a Senior Colourist at Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post Production for over 8 years, before managing the Picture Department for over three years.

    Having worked on numerous productions in Australia, New Zealand and North America, with directors such as Jane Campion, Alex Proyas, Steven Spielberg, Guillermo Del Toro, Taika Waititi and Neill Blomkamp, Dave has also been involved in the emergence of new film-making technologies including being a key figure in building the multi award-winning 3D 48fps pipeline for the Hobbit trilogy.

 

  • Catherine Armstrong

    Catherine Armstrong 

    General Manager & Head of Post Production

    One of Australia's leading post production executives, Catherine Armstrong joined the Spectrum Films family in 2016. As our General Manager & Head of Post Production, Catherine is the first port of call for all our clients' needs within the realms of Picture and Sound. She manages all project specific workflow development, data acquisition, offline and on-line edit suites, Colour Grading, ADR, Sound Design, Sound Mixing and all deliverables required.

    Catherine’s ingenuity, empathy and ability to make immediate decisions ensure an enjoyable post-production experience for the full crew, as well as managing freelance sound and colour creative.

    Catherine also leads the full-time Client Services and Engineering teams at Spectrum Films. Her passion for people and for the art of film means that she will work tirelessly to ensure that her clients’ creative visions are achieved.

 

  • Angus Robertson

    Angus Robertson

    Head of Sound

    Multi award winning sound post producer Angus Robertson joined Spectrum Films as Head of Sound in 2016.

    With over 36 years experience across all areas of sound post production, Angus has been involved in over 150 feature films and over 300 hours of television drama. With credits in a range of roles from Dead Calm, The Year My Voice Broke and Black Robe, to more recent work as part of the 2016 Oscar® winning Sound team on Mad Max - Fury Road as well as Truth, Australia, Happy Feet, The Great Gatsby, The Sapphires, Lord of the Rings, Babe, The Adventures of Priscilla – Queen of the Desert and Babyteeth.

    Commencing his career at Sound on Film, Angus managed and operated the ADR and Foley Stage for Spectrum Films from the mid 1980s. He has freelanced as a sound supervisor, editor, recording engineer and mixer. In 2007 Angus joined Deluxe Australia (formerly Atlab) establishing StageOne Sound and overseeing all the company's sound requirements. A founding member of the Australia Screen Sound Guild as well as a host of other industry bodies, Angus has also been a guest lecturer at the Australian Film Television & Radio School.

 

  • Adam Archer

    Adam Archer

    Head of Finishing and VFX

    With over 25 years’ experience in the post production industry, Adam Archer Joined Spectrum Films in September 2022 as Head of Finishing and VFX.

    After starting his career in Canberra, Adam joined Videolab/The LaB Sydney in 1996, working as an online editor on classic Australian series such as Heartbreak High and Water Rats as well as on numerous television commercials. In 2008 he started at The Editors as senior Flame artist to build their finishing offering, and during his time there completed VFX and online on multiple award-winning campaigns. From 2015 Adam spent 7 years at Blue Post Sydney, working on a large number of episodic projects including Mr Inbetween and David Attenborough’s Life in Colour, and was also instrumental in establishing their VFX division.

    Adam has garnered a strong reputation for his HDR & Doby Vision expertise, including presenting seminars for Dolby and Autodesk. With a creative, positive and pragmatic approach combined with his technical expertise, Adam has built a reputation for designing highly efficient and effective solutions to all aspects of picture postproduction and visual effects.

 

  • Michael Messih

    Michael Messih

    Technical Operations Manager

    Michael joined the Spectrum Films family in June 2021 as our Technical Operations Manager and is the first port of call for anything technical or workflow related across all our suites and theatres.

    He started his career on the tools across several editorial and DI positions, and then progressed into technical supervision roles for post facilities here in Sydney and in the UK. Most recently Michael worked in a National Technology Lead role overseeing large-scale facility & technology projects, as well as establishing and maintaining consistent Post-Production workflows across everything from editorial through to final delivery.

    Michael's calm nature and strong organisational skills helps us maintain the highest level of quality and support.

 

  • Glenn Butler

    Glenn Butler

    Senior Sound Engineer and Re-recording Mixer

    Glenn Butler joined Spectrum Films in October 2022 as Senior Sound Engineer and Re-recording Mixer.

    Glenn is a highly skilled and experienced sound technician and mixer with a background in both feature films and television. He has a strong understanding of the technical and creative aspects of sound production. He is also an expert in the use of industry-standard software and hardware for sound recording and processing.

    Over the course of his career, Glenn has worked on a wide variety of film and TV projects, ranging from low-budget independent productions to major Hollywood blockbusters. Titles include: Mad Max: Fury Road, Truth, Elvis, The Great Gatsby, The Power of the Dog, Playing with Sharks, to name a few. He has a proven track record of delivering high-quality sound recordings and mixes that are tailored to the specific needs of each project. In addition to his technical abilities, Glenn is also a creative problem-solver who is able to think outside the box to come up with innovative solutions to complex sound design challenges. He is highly respected by his peers in the industry and is known for his attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

 

  • Basia A'Hern

    Basia A'Hern 

    Post Producer

    Basia started her professional career in the US working in various fields of entertainment including theatre and events. On her return to Sydney she has spent the last 6 years in both the commercial and long form space. Basia has provided post production support on a multitude of successful local projects. 

    Her dedication and strong organisation skills will provide an outstanding level of support, from editorial through to delivery. 

 

  • James Cowie

    James Cowie

    Colourist/ Finishing Editor

    James joined Spectrum Films in February 2011 and has worked on and mastered a number of feature films, including Go Karts,  Standing Up for Sunny, 1%, One Less God, and Sacred Heart. He has also completed numerous television shows, documentaries, and short films, including the acclaimed Zach's Ceremony, Queen & Zac Grieve, and Hitting Home. 

    Operating both DaVinci Resolve and SGO Mistika, James is also growing his portfolio of work as a Colourist. His exemplary understanding of digital workflows, and an attention to detail that is second to none, ensures the highest-quality finishing for all our clients Digital Intermediate requirements.

 

  • Affrica Handley

    Affrica Handley 

    Finishing Editor

    Affrica's role as Online Editor is integral to the Digital Intermediate department to ensure the highest level of service and production quality for all our clients. Affrica enjoys working on all forms of media, including drama, documentary, television, and online content. 

    Outside the office, Affrica's love to film editing as well as various aspects of visual design, have seen her run an online video channel writing and editing visual essays on film criticism and analysis, focusing on independent and international cinema.

    Prior to joining Spectrum Films, Affrica studied a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Sydney, finishing with First Class Honours in Film Studies, and also worked as Head Transcriber at Warner Bros Television in Sydney. 

 

  • Sofia Costa

    Sofia Costa 

    Post Production Coordinator

    Sofia is an integral part of the client services team in supporting the smooth operation of the post production process at Spectrum Films. As Post Production Coordinator, Sofia is responsible for the scheduling and booking elements of day to day management.

    Prior to joining Spectrum Films, Sofia worked at a small production house, coordinating the localisation of film distributor assets as well as an animation Production Assistant.
